Greeting, comrades! It is with great honor that I present to you the ninth edition of the Carnival of Socialism, a leftist community on the blogosphere who takes turns hosting the fortnightly event which compiles outstanding articles from a plethora of socialist authors. This edition of the carnival is a day late (usually presented on Sundays) due to a lack of submissions. Fear not, comrades! I have done my best to dig up some hidden gems. Enjoy!First up is an article from Jeremy at Daddy-Dialect entitled "Utopia vs. Families". The article gives a good overview on the problems that the 21st-century concept of "family" presents and how we all suffer the consequences by not all playing a part in the parenting of our youth.
Andrew from And time yet for a hundred indecisions posted a short, but very interesting poem titled "The Marlboro Man Gets Tough".
A newer blogger I recently ran across, Henry from Word of the Left recently wrote an article detailing the differences between Socialism and Communism from a Leninist perspective. I highly recommend you stop by and see what he has going on over there.
Louis at The Unrepentant Marxist, one of my favorite bloggers posted an extremely thorough look at the democratic centralist movement in Great Britain and the various problems movements like the Socialist Worker's Party are having in gaining momentum.
Dave's Part featured a criticism of trade union blacklisting by corporations, which has inhibited many worker's from being hired for certain types of jobs. This issue has, and seemingly will continue to be a big problem for individuals from throughout the leftist community so I highly recommend reading what he has written on the topic.
On a lighter note, Andy from The Socialist Unity Blog gave an insightful look at a new line of t-shirts being produced that honor various parties and interest groups during the Spanish Revolution.
For a laugh, head over to the Red Baron's blog and read his response to Inigo Wilson's Lefty Lexicon, "Conservative Compendium". I got a kick out of it. Baron continually contributes humor, insight, and overall great articles to the Carnival so if you haven't already, mark his blog down on your favorites.
I have one last "article" I would like to post, although it cannot be limited to a single post because of the immense nature of the issue: MarxistFromLebanon. For a leftist look at events in this chaotic part of the Middle East, I know of no better source than this. As I said, picking a single article would be to cheat the entire blog, as it is all focused around this topic. If you have some time, it's always an interesting, often heartbreaking read.
That concludes the ninth edition of the Carnival of Socialism. Thank you for allowing me the honor of hosting. Check back on the Carnival's main page next fortnight for the tenth edition. Until next time, comrades! Namaste.

Thank you for including Marxist from Lebanon, my blog team member, for this honor.
